What does talent attraction entail?
Attracting talent requires several distinct elements, each of which plays an essential role in the recruitment process. Your employer brand includes everything from your company’s ethos and values to its market reputation. To attract top talent, you must have a strong employer brand that effectively communicates your values and competitive advantages.
The Journal of Business and Psychology published a study in 2020, entitled: “Attracting and Retaining Top Talent in the Digital Age: The Role of Employer Branding and High-Performance Work Systems”. The purpose was to investigate the effect of employer branding and high-performance work systems (HPWS) on talent attraction and retention in China’s technology sector.
A survey of 235 employees revealed that a strong employer brand and an efficient HPWS positively impacted talent attraction and retention. The study found that these factors increased employee engagement, job satisfaction, and organisational loyalty. In addition, the study discovered that the relationship between employer branding and talent attraction was stronger for younger, more educated employees.
The study suggests that organisations should modify their talent attraction strategies to the unique requirements and preferences of various workforce segments.
